No pink tights required—this is a class for anyone who wants to move. We’ll work on the fundamental steps and terminology in a supportive and relaxed environment. There will be spins and jumps, for sure.
Free for all Yale Students! Meets at The Broadway Rehearsal Lofts at 294 Elm Street, New Haven, CT.
About the Instructor:
Megan Wright trained at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and spent twelve years as a professional dancer in San Francisco and New York City, most notably with the Stephen Petronio Company, where she was Director of Education. She’s now a third-year Eli Whitney undergraduate at Yale. Her approach to teaching ballet is informed by the work of Sandra Chinn, Katy Pyle (Ballez), and the Dance Education Laboratory. Form is function. Rigor is fun.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Avoid pants that will drag on the floor. Bring a non-slippery pair of socks.
“I don’t have a ballet body.” Do you have a body? Do you want to do ballet? Congratulations. You have a ballet body. See you in class.
This class will not meet during the October and November Recess's.
