No pink tights required—this is a ballet class for anyone who wants to move. We’ll work on the fundamental steps and terminology in a supportive and relaxed environment. There will be jumps, turns, and piano tunes. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in and a non-slippery pair of socks.
No need to sign up- come whenever you can! Free and open to all Yale students!
294 Elm Street, New Haven, CT Broadway Rehearsal Loft (3rd floor)
Important note:
"I don't have a ballet body." Do you have a body? Do you want to do ballet? Congratulations. You have a ballet body. See you in class.
Instructor bio:
Megan Wright received her training at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and the Lines Ballet School. She then spent twelve years as a professional dancer in San Francisco and New York City, most notably with the Stephen Petronio Company, where she also served as director of education. She now, unaccountably, studies economics at Yale. Her approach to teaching ballet is informed by the work of Sandra Chinn and the Dance Education Laboratory. Form is function. Rigor is fun. Falling down is fine.
This class will not meet during the October and November recesses.
